iPRO and Portsmouth RFC Collaborate to Hydrate Local NHS Key Workers

As the COVID-19 outbreak is due to hit it’s peak in the coming days, this week saw a very fitting donation from Portsmouth RFC and Official Hydration Partners, iPRO, to local NHS key workers.

The partners donated iPRO’s healthy hydration drinks, which are low in sugar and high in Vitamin C, for NHS workers within the Patient Transport Service running out of Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.

Keeping hydrated is highly important for good wellbeing, in particular for key workers supporting our communities on a daily basis during this difficult time. The NHS worker’s health is essential to iPRO and as such it was a privilege to see smiling staff welcoming the vitamin-packed drinks whilst they battle on the front line.

With the Club’s season now cancelled, both Portsmouth RFC and iPRO knew the importance of donating the product to avoid any waste and crucially providing some support to the staff who are working such long hours.

iPRO National Account Manager, Charlotte Taylor, said:

“We are really glad to be able to collaborate with Portsmouth Rugby Club to donate hydrating drinks to local key workers in this time of need. It is a fantastic opportunity to provide hydration support and promote the staff’s wellbeing, and we are delighted to have been a part of it.”

Ian Alvey, PRFC 1st Team Manager, also commented:

“We at Portsmouth RFC are very proud to have within our family, both players and non players, and members who either work in, with or for the NHS. As a community club we are striving to support the local teams as they work tirelessly during this pandemic. With the support of our wonderful sponsor iPRO it was an absolute honour to be able to donate our unused hydration supplies to our NHS Hero's. We look forward to continuing our relationship with iPRO and to welcoming back all of our folks who have worked to support local people once we are able to return to the sport of Rugby.”
