Hundreds Receive Free Meals Thanks To Chairboys Team Effort

Wanderers' free lunch project this week - initiated by David Wheeler - has seen hundreds of local people benefit from a hot meal thanks to a collaboration of a number of partners.

A kitchen team headed up by chef Will Shaw has been supported by Ross and Aimee Hunt from High Wycombe restaurant Lata Lata, with produce coming from ASDA, Artisan Gourmet Meats and Morrisons plus bottled drinks from iPRO Hydrate.

The campaign has been backed by the Chairboys' major sponsor Dreams, who have also pledged financial donations to facilitate similar projects in the community in future.

Wheeler was joined by team-mate Daryl Horgan on Thursday to dish up takeaway portions which have been delivered to Hills Cafe in Micklefield, St Andrews Church on Hatters Lane and the High Wycombe YMCA, each of whom will distribute the meals to those less fortunate, as well as projects run by the Sports & Education Trust.

In total, around 300 meals have been distributed across the town with many more being taken home by visitors to the stadium.

Wanderers would like to thank Will, Ross, Aimee and their teams, plus everyone who has donated produce and pledged support to the event, plus Tim Page from 3B Hire who gave up time to serve food at Adams Park.

Sophie Christy, Commercial Director of iPRO Hydrate, added:

"This is a very challenging time for so many people and inevitably the most vulnerable are those impacted the most. This is why we are doing our part by teaming up with our partners at Wycombe Wanderers to provide much need healthy hydration alongside a hot meal to those in need."
