Nutrition and Hydration Week 2021: Why It’s Important All Year Round

Nutrition and Hydration Week is an annual event that has taken place every March since 2012. After being postponed for three months due to the pandemic, Nutrition and Hydration Week started on Monday 14th June and will follow all the way to Sunday 20th.

The event intends to educate people on the importance of food and drink when maintaining their health and wellbeing. It also aims to celebrate and promote the supply of nutrition and hydration locally, nationally, and globally.

The Importance of Nutrition and Hydration All Year Round

Keeping our bodies well-nourished and hydrated isn’t just for one week. It’s something we need to pay attention to all year round. Our body’s ability to fight infection and disease depends on our immune system, which requires regular nourishment and hydration to remain strong and healthy. It all starts with eating nutrient-rich meals every day and drinking plenty of hydrating fluids.

Whether you’re sporty or non-sporty, young or old – keeping your body and immune system nourished and hydrated is equally important for everybody. The nutrients our bodies need for energy are carbohydrates, fats, and protein. You can find carbohydrates in foods such as starchy vegetables and whole grains. However, eating a nutritional diet doesn’t just help your physical health. It also supports your mental health. Eating foods high in carbohydrates tends to have an uplifting effect as it contains tryptophan, an amino acid that influences your mood and cognition.

The Healthier Hydration Choice

Drinking enough fluids helps to transport the nutrients through our bodies and prevents us from becoming dehydrated. Hydration drinks rich in carbohydrates and electrolytes are scientifically proven to hydrate the body better than drinking water alone. iPRO Hydrate is a low-sugar, healthy hydration drink that’s made using natural spring water and sweetened with Stevia extract (a plant-based sugar alternative). It contains added electrolytes that replace salts and minerals lost to sweat, and maintains a natural balance of fluids in our bodies. It's also supplemented with essential vitamins such as 100% Daily Vitamin C and immunity-boosting Vitamins B5, B6, B7, and B12.

Avoiding energy drinks is an additional factor to keeping hydrated as it contains caffeine, a diuretic ingredient known to advance dehydration in excessive amounts. iPRO Hydrate doesn’t contain caffeine or stimulants. You’ll only find healthy, nutritional, and replenishing ingredients in a bottle of iPRO Hydrate!
